HOW TO BUILD YOUR OWN FIRE PIT

Image
There are few things as relaxing as a warm fire on a cool evening. An outdoor fire pit makes any patio or backyard into a great gathering place where friends and family can eat, talk, or just rest by the fire. Step 1: Preparation STONES We built this fire pit from landscaping blocks. You can use field stone or other materials too. Do not use stones that have been submerged in water; they can explode with the heat of the fire. Concrete blocks may deteriorate from the heat, but they are cheap to replace. DRAINAGE In the bottom center of the pit, we dug a fencepost-sized hole 2 feet deep and filled it with gravel. The hole works like a sump, helping to drain rainwater. ADHESIVES We dry-stacked the stone. It's a quicker way to build the fire pit. If you have to replace cracked or broken stones, dry-stacking makes that job easier as well. If you want to cement the courses, lay cement down only on the outside half of the stones to protect the cement from the heat. Adhesives may melt and ...

HOW TO CURL YOUR HAIR FOR LOOSE WAVES

Image
I am so happy to finally have my hair curling tutorial ready for you today!  Y’all are so sweet and know how to make a girl feel good about her hair and this is one of the biggest requests I get- to show you how I do mine.  All you need is a 1-1/2 inch curling wand to achieve loose, wavy curls and I’ll show you how to use it with a step-by-step pictorial below. Start with your hair dry and put the middle section up in a clip so you can curl the sides and back. Spray the bottom portion of your hair  lightly  with some iol .  You just need a little to help hold the curl. Grab a small section of your hair, the bigger the section, the looser the curl. Point your wand down and wrap your hair around it, starting with the hair closest to your head.  Curl your hair away from your face. Hold the hair at the wand for 10-15 seconds. Release the hair and hold it in your hand for 10 seconds, so you keep the curl while your hair cools down... Please Click “Next”or “Open”To Read More Repeat this proc...

How To Make A Bird's Nest Lamp Shade Out of Newspaper

Image
I'm so excited about this project. This lamp shade came out soooo much better than I thought! I mean it's pretty awesome! :) instructions: Roll the tubes using a sheet of newspaper (fold the big sheet in half and roll), I used a skinny dowel to roll, it makes the rolling process easier and all of them will end up with the same thickness -- I rolled over 200 tubes for this project. Using a glue stick, glue the ends closed. Using the paper color you desire, cover the tubes. Cut the ends of each tube using gardening shears. Start gluing the tubes together (think of a bird's nest) stacking them on top of each other to make the shape (a cake turning table can be very handy while you're making your lampshade). When you're done, sit the lamp shade over a small lamp and you are done! I hope you have enjoyed this DIY !

DOLLAR STORE DIY PUMPKIN SERVING TRAY

Image
It doesn’t exactly feel like fall yet but I am ready for fall. That is why I need to start the fall crafts to at least pretend like fall is approaching. I live in Phoenix and we don’t really have a fall but I love all the fall pumpkin decorations. This diy pumpkin serving tray is made with dollar store materials and so easy to put together. It is perfect for serving food at a fall party or for Thanksgiving! You can also put fall scented candles on top or other fall decorations. It’s versatile and I just love how it turned out. The only thing I didn’t get at the dollar store is the paint. I used some copper paint I already had. Craft stores, Amazon, Target or Walmart have a variety of cheap shimmery paints. I love how the copper worked out because it blended well with the orange and I didn’t have to add too much paint. Materials for the Pumpkin Tray: Medium sized foam pumpkin silver or solid color serving plate glue gun copper paint(or any color you want) paint brush. Remove the top ...
